Helen’s Background and Current Work

Helen Eaton (nee Kippin) is an independent education consultant working with primary schools across the UK. Helen has a breadth of teaching experience across a range of leadership roles within a wide context of schools.

Helen has taught from Early Years Foundation Stage, through to year six. She is particularly experienced in supporting children and teachers with the tricky transition from Foundation Stage in to year one.

Prior to becoming an independent education consultant Helen was a ‘Leading Year 2’ and a ‘Leading Interactive Whiteboard’ teacher. She was also a moderator of Key Stage One Mathematics SATs for Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC).

In addition to attaining her National Professional Qualification for Headship, Helen joined CWaC’s Primary Mathematics Consultants team on secondment, to train and support teachers across Cheshire West and Chester.

In 2014 Helen set up her own business, Eaton Education Consultancy, supporting schools across the UK.

Helen is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Chester, speaking about her extensive experience in teaching phonics and administering the year one phonics screening check. Helen’s work at the University of Chester is primarily involved with writing and delivering Early Years and Primary Mathematics ITT training to students at the University of Chester’s Warrington Campus.

Helen has been an Associate Consultant for ECM Education Consultants since 2014, supporting schools, academies and teachers across the UK. In Helen’s recent work she lead a ‘Conservation Teacher Toolkit’ project for Chester Zoo. This Toolkit is due to be launched  autumn term 2020.

Helen is also a Directors of Education Box Ltd, a Chester based company which creates educational products, which are sold internationally. The current product lineup includes a selection of best selling times tables CDs, which are available on Amazon UK and also via digital download on the major streaming platforms. 2020 is an exciting year for Education Box with mathematics games, DVDs and videos all on the way too.
