Helen’s Background and Current Work
Helen Eaton is an independent Education Consultant working with primary schools across the UK. Helen has a breadth of teaching experience across various leadership roles within a wide context of schools. Before becoming an independent education consultant, Helen was a ‘Leading Year 2’ and a ‘Leading Interactive Whiteboard’ teacher. She was also a moderator of Key Stage One Mathematics SATs for Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC). In addition to attaining her National Professional Qualification for Headship, Helen joined CWaC’s Primary Mathematics Consultants team on secondment, to train and support teachers across Cheshire West and Chester.
In 2014 Helen set up her own consultancy business, as an Education Consultant. As well as this, she began to provide Social Media Consultancy support to select local and international businesses.
Helen is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Chester. She has spoken about her experience teaching systematic synthetic phonics and administering the Phonics Screening Check. Helen’s work at the University of Chester primarily involved writing and delivering Early Years and Primary Mathematics ITT training to students at the University of Chester’s Warrington Campus.
Helen has been an Associate Consultant for ECM Education Consultants since 2014, supporting schools, academies and teachers across the UK. Helen led a ‘Conservation Teacher Toolkit’ project and a ‘Palm Oil’ Toolkit for Chester Zoo which involved creating a wide range of teaching resources linked to the National Curriculum and the Curriculum for Wales.
Helen provides education consultancy support for The BBC.
Helen is also a director of Education Box Ltd, a Chester-based company which creates educational products, which are sold internationally. The current product line-up includes a selection of best-selling Times Tables Songs, available for digital download on all streaming platforms. 2020 was an exciting year for Education Box; in August 2020 the company signed a partnership with Magic Star Kids and Family; the home of children’s and family entertainment at Sony Music UK. Launching a new YouTube Channel @EducationBoxMusic which has a wide range of animated Time Tables Music Videos, taking their Times Tables songs to the next level. The Music Videos have strong visuals designed to support children to see rich number patterns, as well as learn through melody, repetition and rhyme!
An exciting development for 2023 was the creation of the “Happy Elf Activities” and “The Bossy Elf’s Terrible Tasks” under the name of Foldable Fun. Helen has co-written and produced these alongside her talented Multi-Media expert and partner, George Eaton.
The “Happy Elf Activities” – These aim to spread happiness, kindness, good deeds and cheer (throughout December and even into Twixmas)!
“The Bossy Elf’s Terrible Tasks” – The Bossy Elf is quite demanding! Bringing timed challenges and lots of daft FUN! Making the Elf’s visit entertaining, especially for grown-ups!
